I just overheard this quote on Time Rock Trio, a show currently on ABC kids.
Sounds like the mantra of many an Australian Cricket Captain after a Day/Nighter!
Summer's here again, Ricky Ponting (or more appropriately, "Picky Rooting"... an apt description that I discovered when txting his name once, of this man devoted to his wife... as opposed to Shame Warne!) has a new book out, and more are to come. Instant Christmas present for my husband. I bet some family member gets it for him. He has quite an extensive library of sporting commentary, written mostly by cricketers past and present. The 12th Man might call him, "IkeepWisdenbythebed".
He finally has a son capable of throwing a ball and spending hours on the couch watching tests with. Our 22 month old showed some aptitude in the nets at his church cricket club match on Saturday, though at this stage he could get into shotput given his starting stance!
The test was scheduled to begin today, so summer is officially here. Whilst I am glad for the cultured and politically informed Stuey Macgill got a spot in the team, I do hope we get another summer of "Hoggeeeeeeeeeee!" in the Ladies Stand this summer, at least as Waterboy.
The gleam is well and truly back in my husband's eye. Cricket season and Movember... The only month in which he indulges in manscaping (apart from the summer holiday/Christmas/New Year/Sydney Test goatee). As long as it's for charity, and he doesn't start using hair product, I'm sure I can put up with his token Metrosexualism for a month. But bring on December.
