It's Good News Week!

This was the song on my lips this afternoon as I reached down to collect the local rag from my driveway. What a wonderful headline! "Vale Set to Quit"! The news I've longed for. My daughter, shellshocked, watched as I danced and punched the air victoriously in a gleeful, joyous jig at the thought of my electorate being Danna-free.
Let me be the first to congratulate her on a wonderful decision for Australian politics, and all the happiness she deserves in her retirement.
My jubilation, however, has been tempered by reading this article. Rejecting mandatory detention in the NT was something I was unaware she stood for. I didn't know about the intention to cross the floor, either.
Perhaps she wasn't just a pretty face?
