What a win! I am one very happy camper tonight!
Though my local member is still ditsy Danna, there has been a definite swing away from her, which is only going to make it easier to be rid of her in the next election.

However despite the majority of voters in my seat not being too bright, the rest of the nation has spoken, and brought the longed-for result, with added bonuses!
It is great to see Lindsay go to Labor after the fake pamphlet debarcle.
It is better to see John Howard looks quite likely to lose his seat to Maxine McKew, former ABC journo and passionate doorknocker during this campaign. Greg Holland did the same, and I almost hugged him and pleaded with him to please win! Unfortunately it wasn't to be, however his success and Maxine's shows the power of actually meeting and listening to your constituents, because, as we have seen with Work Choices, real people are affected by the policies you pass through Parliament.
I am elated and exhausted, and look forward to tomorrow, to see my dream of a Labor Government in action; standing for equity amongst Indigenous and non-Indigenous, young and old, and migrants and those born here. I look forward to the pursuit of renewable energy sources as opposed to nuclear, and real action on Climate Change (where is my "Blue Sky Mining" CD?!?!? Time to blast the neighbours with some Peter Garrett gold).
I look forward to those who cannot advocate for themselves having a Government who will advocate for them, and dancing with delight with others who "climbed a stairway to Kevin"!
Now I must get one of those climate change coffee mugs for Mr Howard, after all, retirement's imminent now, and thank him for the gun law reform, which was the first and best thing he did during his term as PM.
Congratulations Kevin Rudd and Julia Gillard: the Dream Team!
Thanks Australia, for doing what my own neighbours wouldn't do. Here's to the future!
