The shirt, after one last futile hoorah tonight, goes into retirement.
After appearing at many a home game at the SFS since the end of his Waratahs contract, the "Bring Back the Burke" shirt will be honourably retired.

Matt Burke, the former Australia full back, has annonced his retirement after conceding defeat in his battle to recover from a knee injury.
The Newcastle Falcon, who was a member of Australia's 1999 World Cup-winning team, has spent the past seven months sidelined with a torn anterior cruciate knee ligament. The 35-year-old won 81 caps for Australia and spent four years with Newcastle, scoring 430 points.
"I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Newcastle, playing my rugby and closing out my career with the Falcons," Burke said. "I look back on my four seasons and hopefully say that I contributed to the team's performance and provided some enjoyment for the fans to come and watch.
"To have played week in, week out with what I thought was one of the best group of supporters of a club, gave me a great sense of pride, and over my time I'd hoped to have repaid them with my commitment to the shirt."
Matthew Burke, my absolute Rugby hero, has retired from the game, after sustaining an ACL tear seven months ago.
Burkey, I literally feel your pain. Having been through the same injury after a somewhat less illustrious Rugby career (yours, 2nd only to Andrew Mehrtens in the Super 12 point score tally; mine, 1 game SUWRC, 4 for SDWRUC), the game we love has been hijacked by NRLesque cheerleaders and ineffective management.
Still, we have the last laugh. Mackenzie's gone after tonight, too, and the Rebels and Rebelettes (the cheerleaders, not the Womens' team... that no longer exists. 'Tis the Shire, after all) have nothing to cheer about, either.
All the best in your future career, mate, and thanks for the memories. I hope to have repaid you somehow with my commitment the shirt too.
May you be the 'Tahs next coach, and bring decorum back to the Heavenly Game... And may they go on to win the Final!!!
(While you're at it, give Dunning the flick too, please).
