Will "God" play for England?
September 29th 2007 14:44
Can anyone settle the bet I have going with my husband?
My unbelieving husband says not, but I have been holding onto the hope that Matt Burke will be called into the England side, to play the Wallabies next week.
I'm sure Dr B et al on the Falcons' site will be able to tell me what the odds are presently.
If he does, I'll be in red and white that night, giving the ARU the bird too!
If I were into "The Secret", I'd never admit to this, but I'm most unashamedy not. So I send this thought out into the Universe:
I don't think the ARU deserves to bring back Bill.
What with the great Rogers/Sailor/LottaTequilla budget blow-out, as well as the (thankfully averted) Andrew Johns pandering that went on this year...And boo hoo! Matt Dunning can't bear to see children staying up later than he. Perhaps Matt should consider that those French enfants might behave better in public than he?
On that point (I haven't had a Rugby rant for some time, so forgive me for opening old wounds...), did anyone notice how well Dunning played in South Africa earlier this year? What is it about that continent that gave Dunning such speed? Did I just answer my own question?! Was he on the No-Doze, or something more sinister; something those French kids sans curfew can get, that he can't.
Some might call me a traitor, for bagging our national team and its administrators, even as they play (6 minutes to go and they just put Gregan on), but I'm big enough to admit such thoughts. Counter-cultural or offensive they might be, but I say these things without fear of retribution.
I can even proudly admit that tomorrow I'm barracking for Manly.
And I still think they were robbed by the Knights in the 97 Grand Final.
